Thanks Emmanuel for sitting down with both Noura and Noa. A big red flag for me Noura’s encouragement to ask “why” with regards to what happened on October 7th. There is no good reason or justification for what happened. It doesn’t matter if someone was tortured, there is never reason to act such a way in order to get revenge. God is the only just avenger. What has happened with both Palestinians and Jews is terrible, sad, and heartbreaking, and we should try to understand and empathize with each others’ hurts, not justify what caused them.

I understand and love the idea of celebrating our cultural differences but I dont see how calling each other blank and white is helpful. I think the black woman's statement is problematic that her husband would never understand her experience fully. She uses the word "never" which is too strong and restrictive, because any non-black person can understand her experience if educated about it.
